Jan 17, 2025, 08:04 PM
Denis Law, the legendary former Manchester United, Manchester City, and Scotland forward, has died at the age of 84 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Affectionately known as 'The King' and 'The Lawman', Law scored 237 goals in 404 games for Manchester United, making him the club's third-highest scorer behind Sir Bobby Charlton and Wayne Rooney. He is the only Scottish player to have won the Ballon d'Or, receiving the award in 1964. Law was part of Manchester United's famous 'Holy Trinity' alongside George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton. His family announced his passing in a statement, saying, 'The ultimate goal-scorer, his flair, spirit and love for the game made him the hero of a generation.' Tributes have poured in from the football world, including former United captains Bryan Robson, Gary Neville, and Wayne Rooney, who remembered him as a fantastic man and great footballer.
