BlackRock Inc. has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings through its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), purchasing approximately 6,470 Bitcoin valued at $661.9 million on January 21, 2025. This acquisition marks a notable investment in the cryptocurrency, reflecting growing institutional interest. The trading volume for BlackRock's IBIT ETF reached $3.5 billion on the same day, indicating strong market activity. Additionally, Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. now hold over 1.1 million BTC, representing about 5.7% of the total Bitcoin supply.
