Ukraine Plans 30,000 Robotic Ground Vehicles, Unveils 1.6 Million Drone Order and HX-2 AI Drone
Dec 2, 2024, 09:41 AM
Ukraine's military strategy is set to undergo a significant transformation as it plans to deploy tens of thousands of uncrewed robotic ground vehicles in 2025 to support infantry operations, according to Mykhailo Fedorov, the Minister of Digital Transformation. This initiative follows the delivery of 1.3 million drones out of a total order of 1.6 million made this year. Fedorov also highlighted that Ukraine possesses strike drones with a range of 1,800 kilometers and is developing interceptor drones to counter threats from long-range adversary drones. The introduction of AI-powered swarm drones is anticipated for combat use in 2025, reflecting an evolution in Ukraine's drone warfare capabilities. Additionally, Helsing, a UK-based defense technology firm, has unveiled its new HX-2 drone, an AI-enabled autonomous system, further emphasizing the growing role of advanced technology in modern warfare.
