Suspect Fatally Shot After Crashing Pickup into Killeen Mall, Injuring Five

At around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, a driver fleeing police led authorities on a pursuit that began in Belton, Texas, approximately 19 miles away, and ended at the Killeen Mall. The suspect, driving a pickup truck, crashed through the front doors of a JC Penney store, driving several hundred yards inside the mall and running over multiple people, injuring at least five individuals. A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper shot and killed the suspect. Sgt. Bryan Washko of the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that there was no active shooter at the mall.
