Driver Fleeing Police Killed After Crashing Into Killeen Mall, Injuring Five Including Child

Around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, a male driver fleeing police was fatally shot after crashing a black pickup truck into Killeen Mall in Texas, injuring at least five people, including a six-year-old child. The suspect was being pursued by law enforcement from Belton, approximately 19 miles away. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Bryan Washko, the driver drove through the front doors of the JCPenney store and continued several hundred yards through the mall, actively running people over. Law enforcement officers shot and killed the suspect inside the mall, preventing further harm.
