Former South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun attempted suicide while in custody at the Eastern Detention Center, officials from the Justice Ministry confirmed. Kim, who is the central figure in a case involving a failed bid to impose martial law, had skipped his arrest warrant hearing earlier in the day.
