Russia Launches Massive Missile Attack on Ukraine's Energy Grid Using Tu-95 Bombers; Air Alerts Nationwide

On December 13, 2024, Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, employing Tu-95 bombers to fire cruise missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. Explosions were reported in multiple regions, including Odessa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kremenchuk, and western Ukraine. Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko confirmed that the entire energy sector is under massive attack. Two people were injured in Myrne, Kharkiv Oblast. Air raid alerts were declared nationwide, and air defense systems are active. Poland increased its aviation readiness in response to the strikes near its border. Russian forces also targeted a repair site for military vehicles in Pereiaslav, Kyiv region, and a drone production facility near Boryspil.
