Jan 19, 2025, 01:24 AM
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on January 16. The attack occurred around 2:30 am when an intruder entered Khan's home with the intent to commit robbery. Khan sustained serious injuries, including a stab wound near his spine, and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery. A piece of the knife, approximately 3 inches long, was extracted from his back. The Mumbai Police launched an extensive manhunt, forming over 30 teams to apprehend the suspect. The prime accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a 30-year-old suspected to be of Bangladeshi origin, was arrested from Thane on January 19 after more than 70 hours of investigation. Shehzad had entered India illegally and was using multiple aliases, including Vijay Das, while working for a housekeeping agency. He claimed to be unaware that he had entered Khan's residence and was attempting theft. Khan is recovering well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the coming days.
