Jan 17, 2025, 11:20 AM
A helicopter registered as PR-WVT, carrying four people, crashed in a wooded area at Morro do Tico-Tico in Caieiras, Greater São Paulo. The helicopter departed from Campo de Marte airport on Thursday night, heading to Americana, when it lost GPS signal. The pilot, identified as Edenilson de Oliveira, and a 12-year-old girl survived the crash and spent the night in the forest under heavy rain before being rescued on Friday morning, which was the girl's birthday. The girl's parents, businessman André Feldman and his wife Juliana Feldman, were found dead among the wreckage. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, with initial reports suggesting heavy rain and adverse weather conditions may have contributed. It was also reported that the helicopter did not have authorization for air taxi services.
