A tragic plane crash in South Korea has resulted in at least 120 deaths, with the incident occurring at 9:03 local time at Muan International Airport in the Jeolla del Sur province. The crash involved a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok, carrying 175 passengers, including 2 Thai nationals, and 6 crew members. The aircraft, identified as a Boeing 737-8AS that entered service in 2009, crashed and burst into flames after failing to deploy its landing gear properly, possibly due to a bird strike combined with adverse weather conditions. Two individuals, one member of the crew and one passenger, were rescued from the wreckage, but the majority of those on board are believed to have perished.
