An Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed near Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan on December 25, 2024, while attempting an emergency landing. The Embraer E190 aircraft was carrying 67 people, including five crew members, on a flight from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia. The crash resulted in at least 38 fatalities, with 29 survivors, including two children, some of whom were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The plane burst into flames after crashing. Kazakhstan's emergency ministry and Deputy Prime Minister Qanat Bozymbaev provided updates on the incident.
