Trump and Vance to Be Sworn In Indoors at Capitol Due to Extreme Cold
Jan 17, 2025, 04:56 PM
President-elect Donald Trump has announced that his inauguration ceremony, scheduled for Monday, will be moved indoors due to dangerously cold temperatures forecasted in Washington, D.C. Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will be sworn in inside the Capitol Rotunda, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 22°F (-5.5°C). This marks the first time an inauguration has been held indoors since Ronald Reagan's second inauguration in 1985. The presidential parade will be held at the Capital One Arena, where over 220,000 ticketed guests are expected to attend. Trump stated, 'There is an Arctic blast sweeping the country. I don't want to see people hurt or injured in any way.' He plans to join the crowd at Capital One Arena after the swearing-in ceremony.
