Ricardo Lewandowski, Brazil's Minister of Justice and Public Security, addressed the Senate's Public Security Commission on Tuesday, denying allegations of political interference by the Federal Police (PF) in investigations involving former President Jair Bolsonaro, the 2022 plot, and the January 8 coup attempt. Lewandowski emphasized that there has been no persecution or undue influence on the PF's work, expressing full confidence in the agency's professionalism. He also clarified that the proposed Constitutional Amendment on Public Security (PEC da Segurança) would not affect the powers of state and municipal governments, stating that it 'does not change a comma.'
