Family of Missouri Teen Tyre Sampson Awarded $310 Million in Orlando Ride Death
Dec 6, 2024, 03:07 PM
A Florida jury has awarded $310 million to the family of Tyre Sampson, a 14-year-old Missouri boy who died in March 2022 after falling from the Orlando FreeFall ride at ICON Park. The jury found that the ride's manufacturer, Funtime Handels, was liable for wrongful death, awarding $155 million to each of Tyre's parents. The verdict comes after the trial began in December 2024, following a lawsuit against the manufacturer. The ride has been shut down since the incident.
