Chairlift Falls 15 Meters at Spain's Astún Ski Resort, Injuring 30; Rescue Underway

At least 30 people have been injured, including nine critically and eight seriously, after a chairlift collapsed at the Astún ski resort in Huesca, Spain, near the French border. The accident occurred when a chairlift derailed and fell from a height of 15 meters, apparently due to a mechanical failure of the cable. Emergency services, including four helicopters, are on the scene to assist the injured and evacuate passengers who remain stranded on the lift. A field hospital has been set up, and a hotline (976 71 59 80) has been established for relatives. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has offered support to regional authorities and expressed concern for the victims.
