Zelensky Condemns Russia's 'Inhumane' Christmas Attack with Over 70 Missiles and 100 Drones
Dec 25, 2024, 04:04 PM
On Christmas Day, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, prompting President Volodymyr Zelensky to condemn the assault as 'inhumane', asking, "What could be more inhumane?" According to Zelensky, Russia fired over 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles, and more than 100 attack drones, targeting critical energy facilities across the country. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant number of drones. The attacks caused power outages in multiple regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Kremenchuk, leaving hundreds of thousands without electricity, heating, and water on Christmas morning. At least one person was killed and six were wounded, and many Ukrainians took shelter in metro stations. Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately choosing Christmas for the attack.
