Germany's Defense Ministry and Bundeswehr Suspend Activity on Musk's X Over Disinformation Concerns
Jan 15, 2025, 02:03 PM
Germany's Defense Ministry and the Bundeswehr, both under the leadership of the left-wing SPD party, announced on Wednesday that they are suspending activity on X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk. The decision was made due to increasing difficulty with 'the objective exchange of arguments' and concerns over the platform's drift towards disinformation. While their accounts will remain online, they will no longer actively post content. The Ministry stated that constructive dialogue has become increasingly challenging on the platform. Followers are encouraged to stay updated through other channels, such as WhatsApp, Bluesky, Mastodon, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads.
