Jacksonville Jaguars Fire Doug Pederson After 4-13 Season, Ending His Tenure at 22-29
Jan 6, 2025, 01:34 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Doug Pederson after three seasons, concluding his tenure with a 22-29 record. The decision comes after a disappointing 4-13 season, marking a significant downturn from the team's performance in Pederson's first two years, where they achieved a 9-8 record each season and secured a playoff win in his debut year. Jaguars owner Shad Khan announced the firing, stating his intention to hire a new head coach to lead the team. Despite the coaching change, general manager Trent Baalke will remain with the organization, as Khan expressed his belief in restoring the team's winning environment next season. Pederson, who previously led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory, was unable to replicate that success in Jacksonville, with the team losing 18 of their last 23 games.
