Green Beret's Suicide in Tesla Cybertruck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Aimed as 'Wake-Up Call'
Jan 3, 2025, 10:10 PM
Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old highly decorated Green Beret from Colorado Springs, Colorado, died in an explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day. The incident, which caused minor injuries to seven people but did not damage the hotel, was intended as a 'wake-up call' for the nation's problems, not a terrorist attack, according to a note left by Livelsberger. In the note, he also expressed his need to 'cleanse my mind' of the lives lost of people he knew and 'the burden of the lives I took.' The Clark County coroner’s office confirmed Livelsberger's death as a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. FBI Special Agent In Charge Spencer Evans described the incident as a tragic case of suicide involving a combat veteran struggling with PTSD and other issues.
