Russia Downs 40 Ukrainian Drones, Ukraine Counters with Neptune Missile Strike on Rostov Facility

Russia and Ukraine engaged in a series of drone attacks overnight. Russia's Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones over various regions, with 16 drones downed over Rostov, 4 over Kursk, 4 over Voronezh, 3 over Bryansk, 2 over Krasnodar, 1 over Belgorod, and 10 over the Azov Sea. On the Ukrainian side, the Air Force stated that Russia launched 72 Shahed drones, with Ukraine managing to down 33 of them and suppress 34 others using electronic warfare. The Ukrainian attacks reportedly targeted a Russian drone warehouse in Rostov Oblast, using a Neptune missile in a joint operation by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy. Additionally, Ukraine's long-range kamikaze drones struck Russian military facilities in Leningrad and Rostov regions, causing severe fires. In Kyiv, a downed Shahed drone damaged a high-rise building and several cars, though no casualties were reported.
