Syrian security forces have thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into Lebanon through an illegal border crossing in the Tartous province. The operation, which involved coordination between the General Directorate of Public Security and the Intelligence Service in Tartous, resulted in the seizure of a shipment containing rifles, drones, and missiles. The weapons were believed to be destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon. Among the seized items were Iranian-made Shahed-101 kamikaze drones, indicating Iran's involvement in the smuggling attempt. The Syrian authorities successfully intercepted the arms before they could cross into Lebanese territory, following continuous monitoring and surveillance efforts.
