Jan 26, 2025, 08:31 AM
Israeli forces opened fire in southern Lebanon on Sunday, killing at least three people and wounding 44 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. The casualties include both civilians and a Lebanese soldier who was killed when Israeli troops fired on residents breaching Israeli roadblocks to return to their homes near the border. The incidents occurred in several locations, including Houla, Mays al-Jabal, Marwahin, Al-Dhaira, and Tyre, as hundreds of displaced residents attempted to return on the expiry of the 60-day deadline for Israeli withdrawal from the area. The Lebanese army reported that another soldier was injured and acknowledged losing control over the area amid the unrest.
