A US Border Patrol agent was shot and killed in Newport, Vermont, near the US-Canadian border during a traffic stop on Interstate 91. The agent was reportedly shot in the neck by an illegal immigrant who was a visa overstay. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the incident, stating that there were two suspects in the car, one of whom is deceased.
