Dec 11, 2024, 05:28 PM
Ukrainian intelligence operatives provided drones, operators, and other support to the Syrian opposition group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which played a key role in toppling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, according to the Washington Post. This support included approximately 150 drones and 20 drone operators, aimed at undermining Russia and its Syrian allies. The involvement of Ukrainian operatives in this operation was part of a broader strategy to 'bloody Putin’s nose' by supporting rebels against Assad, who had been backed by Russia for years.
