Jan 13, 2025, 03:09 PM
BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager with $11.5 trillion in assets under management, has launched a new spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) on Cboe Canada's exchange under the ticker symbol IBIT. The iShares Bitcoin ETF provides investors exposure to Bitcoin through their brokerage accounts. The fund aims to mirror Bitcoin's performance by holding assets in its U.S. counterpart. This launch marks another step in BlackRock's expansion into the cryptocurrency market and reflects the growing institutional adoption of digital assets.
