Jan 12, 2025, 09:30 AM
Turkey's Cybersecurity Directorate is set to receive extensive powers to enhance national cybersecurity measures, including the ability to conduct searches and seizures without prior judicial approval in emergencies. This initiative, referred to as 'Siber Vatan' or 'Cyber Homeland', aims to create a secure cyberspace, prioritizing domestic products. A new Cybersecurity Council, chaired by the President, will be established to formulate strategies for this initiative. The Council will include key officials such as the Vice President and ministers from Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, National Defense, Industry and Technology, and Transport and Infrastructure. Personnel involved in this initiative will undergo strict security screenings, and individuals departing from sensitive roles will be restricted from working in the same field for two years.
