Five Indicted in Liam Payne's Death: Hotel Staff, Friend Charged with Negligent Homicide and Narcotics Supply; Braian Paiz Arrested

Five individuals have been indicted in connection with the death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer who died after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. Among those charged are hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, Payne's friend Rogelio Nores, hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra, and waiter Braian Paiz. Martin, Grassi, and Nores face charges of negligent homicide, while Pereyra and Paiz are accused of supplying narcotics to Payne. Paiz, who allegedly provided cocaine to Payne two days before his death, was arrested on January 3, 2025, following a police raid at his home. The investigation revealed that Payne had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system at the time of his death, which was attributed to multiple traumas and internal and external hemorrhages resulting from the fall.
