The crash, involving a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 flight from Bangkok, resulted in 47 fatalities. Choi, who assumed office on Friday, mobilized all available resources for rescue operations at the site, emphasizing the safety of rescuers. He arrived at the crash site to oversee the response efforts, urging that every possible effort be made to save lives using all available equipment and personnel. The Acting Interior Minister also directed an all-out effort to rescue passengers.
