Israeli Strikes Kill 35 in Gaza, Including Children; Hospitals and 'Safe Zones' Targeted
Dec 22, 2024, 08:31 PM
Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 35 Palestinians, including children, according to medical sources in Gaza. Airstrikes targeted a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of at least eight people, including an infant. The Israeli military ordered the evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north and reportedly opened fire on the hospital and surrounding areas, directly attacking one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza. In Khan Yunis, in the Al-Mawasi area previously designated as a 'safe zone', Israeli airstrikes set tents of displaced people on fire, killing at least seven civilians and injuring others. Civilians were reportedly burned alive in these attacks. Additional strikes targeted refugee camps in Nuseirat and Bureij, causing further civilian casualties.
