Jan 26, 2025, 01:37 PM
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has suspended all assistance programs in Bangladesh for 90 days following an executive order from President Donald Trump. The suspension is part of a global funding freeze affecting all countries under the new policy. USAID has directed all implementing partners in Bangladesh to immediately cease all activities. Despite the suspension, support for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh is exempted and will continue. Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus thanked President Trump for exempting life-saving food and nutrition support for the displaced Rohingya sheltered in Bangladesh.
