Zelensky Sanctions 18 Individuals, Revokes State Awards from Pro-Russian Figures
Jan 19, 2025, 01:28 PM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree implementing new sanctions against 18 individuals from Russia and Ukraine, targeting pro-Russian propagandists, collaborators, and those aiding Russia in the ongoing war. The sanctions list includes prominent figures such as Ukrainian parliament members Yuriy Boyko and Nestor Shufrych, as well as journalist Svitlana Kryukova. Zelensky also announced the revocation of state awards, including the Hero of Ukraine title, from individuals deemed undeserving, emphasizing that only true heroes should hold such honors. The decree follows a decision by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council and aims to block those who work against Ukraine's interests.
