Russia Fires Zircon, Kalibr, and Onyx Missiles in Mediterranean Drills

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that the Russian Navy and Aerospace Forces conducted joint military exercises in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, involving the launch of various high-precision missiles. The drills included the frigate 'Admiral Golovko' launching a Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, the submarine 'Novorossiysk' firing a Kalibr sea-launched cruise missile, and the Bastion coastal missile system launching an Onyx missile. These exercises, led by Admiral A. Moiseev, took place from December 1 to 3, 2024, and involved over 1,000 military personnel, 10 warships, and support vessels. The maneuvers were conducted near the coast of Syria amidst an ongoing rebel offensive in the region.
