Dec 30, 2024, 11:40 AM
Five individuals have been charged in connection with the death of former One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16. Three of the accused, including hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, and Payne's friend Roger Nores, face charges of negligent homicide. The other two, hotel employees Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, are charged with supplying drugs to Payne. Toxicology reports indicated that Payne had consumed alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant before his death. The charges against Paiz and Pereyra carry a potential sentence of up to 15 years, while those charged with negligent homicide could face one to five years in prison. Two of the accused have been ordered into preventive detention.
