Following the enforcement of a federal law banning TikTok in the U.S., a variety of potential buyers have emerged to acquire the platform's U.S. operations. President Donald Trump has suggested that the U.S. government should own half of TikTok in exchange for allowing the app to continue operating in the country. Trump signed an executive order delaying the ban for 75 days to facilitate a deal. Among the interested parties are billionaire Frank McCourt, who is open to teaming up with other buyers as long as he can maintain control of the asset, and YouTube star MrBeast, who is in talks to join McCourt's bid. McCourt's group, Project Liberty, is one of the entities bidding for TikTok from its parent company, ByteDance. Other potential buyers include Elon Musk and Oracle founder Larry Ellison. Trump has expressed openness to Musk or Ellison purchasing TikTok, indicating a preference for a deal that benefits the U.S. government.
