WisdomTree, 21Shares Gain FCA Approval to List Bitcoin, Ether ETPs on LSE from May 28, 2024
May 22, 2024, 11:17 AM
WisdomTree has received approval from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to list physically-backed Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products (ETPs) on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). These ETPs are set to go live on May 28, 2024. The approval marks a significant step for institutional adoption of cryptocurrency in traditional finance markets. WisdomTree's Bitcoin and Ether ETPs, named WisdomTree Physical Bitcoin (BTCW) and WisdomTree Physical Ethereum (ETHW), will be available to professional investors only. Additionally, 21Shares will also list crypto products on the LSE as part of a multi-product UK launch.
