Huawei Launches HarmonyOS NEXT on Tuesday, China's First Major Mobile Operating System
Oct 22, 2024, 12:21 PM
Huawei has officially launched HarmonyOS NEXT, a self-developed mobile operating system that is independent of Android architecture. Since its initial release in 2019, HarmonyOS has become the second most popular operating system in China, with over 1.1 billion lines of code, 6.75 million registered developers, and more than 1 billion devices in its ecosystem. This launch marks the introduction of the world's third major mobile operating system, following Apple's iOS and Google's Android. The launch, which took place on Tuesday, signifies China's first completely home-grown mobile operating system.
