Jan 10, 2025, 12:18 PM
A five-alarm fire broke out at a six-story apartment building located at 2910 Wallace Avenue in the Bronx early Friday morning, injuring seven people, including five firefighters. The fire, which started around 1:40 a.m., escalated quickly due to heavy winds, prompting a response from nearly 200 firefighters and emergency medical personnel. The blaze caused significant damage to the building, with flames visible on the top floor and roof. Residents were advised to avoid the area due to smoke and traffic delays, and those displaced were directed to seek assistance at P.S. 76 on Adee Avenue. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
