Jul 19, 2024, 08:22 PM
A multistate Listeria outbreak has resulted in 28 people falling ill, with all requiring hospitalization. The outbreak, which has led to two deaths, one in Illinois and one in New Jersey, is linked to meats sliced at grocery store deli counters. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that of the 18 people interviewed, 16 had consumed deli-sliced meats, including turkey, liverwurst, and ham. Six people in Maryland and two people in Virginia have also fallen ill.
