Amul Files Complaint Against Seven Users Over Tirupati Laddoo Misinformation
Sep 21, 2024, 10:33 AM
Amul, represented by its Managing Director Jayen Mehta, has filed a complaint against seven users of the social media platform 'X' for allegedly spreading misinformation. The controversy began when adulterated ghee was found in the Laddu Prasad made at Tirupati Devasthanams in Andhra Pradesh. Rumors falsely claimed that the ghee used in the preparation was from Amul. Mehta, speaking from Anand, Gujarat, clarified that Amul has never supplied ghee to the temple. The police have registered a case in the cyber crime branch to address the misinformation campaign. GCMMF, the parent organization of Amul, is taking legal steps to protect its brand.
