This decision, initially made by former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, was upheld by Katz despite Gallant's removal from office. The move has caused uproar among the Haredi community, with a representative from the United Torah Judaism party stating, 'It turns out it’s the Likud who declared war on us.' Opposition leader Yair Lapid expressed his approval of the move, saying 'respect' to Katz's decision. The draft orders will be issued over the next 6-8 weeks, and the Haredi parties are in shock that Katz proceeded with the plan.
