McKinsey Faces Investigation Over Alleged Ties to Chinese Communist Party, Senator Rubio Involved
Oct 21, 2024, 03:01 PM
McKinsey & Company is facing scrutiny over its alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chinese state-owned enterprises. Despite previous testimony by McKinsey's Managing Partner that the firm has never worked with the CCP or the central government in China, court documents list multiple Chinese state-owned enterprises as clients. Additionally, it has been revealed that a branch of the CCP operates within McKinsey's China offices. Lawmakers, including Senator Joni Ernst, Senator Marco Rubio, and Representative Moolenaar, are calling for an investigation into McKinsey's potential conflicts of interest, particularly in relation to its work for companies blacklisted for aiding China's military activities in the South China Sea. Michael Stumo has also joined the call for accountability. A review of DoD docs suggests McKinsey failed to disclose potential conflicts of interest.
