US Lawmakers Call for Investigation into McKinsey's $480 Million Contracts and Work with Chinese Government
Oct 19, 2024, 12:46 PM
US lawmakers, including Rep. John Moolenaar, are calling for an investigation into McKinsey & Company over allegations that the consulting firm misrepresented its work with the PRC government. McKinsey's Managing Partner testified under oath earlier this year, claiming the firm had never worked with the Chinese Communist Party or the central government in China. However, GOP lawmakers argue that McKinsey's website suggests otherwise. Since 2008, McKinsey has received $480 million in contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense. Lawmakers are urging the Justice and Defense departments to review these contracts and investigate the firm's activities. A senior McKinsey partner allegedly handed the Chinese premier McKinsey's contributions to one of China's 5-year-plans.
