OnlyFans Faces Scrutiny Over 200+ Explicit Videos of Minors Bypassing Age Verification

OnlyFans, a platform known for adult content, is facing scrutiny after reports revealed that minors have been able to bypass its age verification system and post explicit material. A Reuters investigation found that children have used adult identification to create accounts and sell explicit images. One case involved a Maryland girl who used an adult's driver's license to set up an account. Despite OnlyFans' claims by CEO Keily Blair of knowing the age and identity of all users, over 200 explicit videos and images of minors have been reported since December 2019, based on 30 complaints in US police records. Some explicit content remained on the platform for up to 16 months before being removed, and it took seven months for OnlyFans to alert authorities about over 100 underage images shared on its messaging system.
