Bestway Sandwiches Inc. has initiated a recall of nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos sold at Aldi stores nationwide due to potential contamination with metal pieces. The affected products, bearing the establishment number 'EST. P-40327', were produced on July 3, 2024, and September 25, 2024, and come in 20-ounce packages with best-by dates of July 3, 2025, and September 25, 2025. The recall was prompted by a consumer complaint about finding metal in the product, and another report of a dental injury associated with the taquitos. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has classified this as a Class 1 recall, indicating a high risk due to the potential for serious health consequences. Consumers are advised to discard or return the recalled products and to contact a physician if they have consumed the product and are concerned about injury or illness.
