U.S. national security agencies have issued warnings that the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Monday is considered an 'attractive potential target' for threats, particularly from individuals with election-related grievances who may view the event as their last chance to influence the election results through violence. Despite no specific credible threats being identified, a comprehensive security plan has been put in place, involving approximately 25,000 law enforcement and military personnel. This includes 7,800 National Guard members from across the U.S., with additional support from various units such as the 112th Military Police Battalion, the 172nd Airlift Wing, and the 186th Air Refueling Wing. Security measures also encompass 48 kilometers of fencing around key areas like the Capitol, the National Mall, and the White House, and the deployment of high visibility patrols throughout Washington, D.C.
