Jun 14, 2024, 04:14 PM
In the first week of the UK election campaign, Labour received substantially more private donations than the Conservatives, according to the Electoral Commission. Labour raised about £927,000 compared to the Conservatives' £575,000. This means Labour raised £350,000 more than the Tories. Keir Starmer’s poll-leading Labour Party received almost double the amount of political donations than Rishi Sunak’s governing Conservatives. The donations for the Conservatives have plummeted to a tenth of what was raised under Boris Johnson in 2019.
