Fossilized Feces and Vomit from Poland Reveal Dinosaurs' Dietary Habits and Rise

New research has utilized fossilized dinosaur feces and vomit, known as coprolites and bromalites respectively, to reconstruct the dietary habits and ecological rise of dinosaurs. These findings indicate that dinosaurs were not picky eaters, consuming a variety of food sources including bones, teeth, fish scales, plant fragments, and even tiny beetles. This dietary flexibility likely contributed to their ability to dominate Earth's ecosystems over 200 million years ago. The study, published in Nature, analyzed hundreds of samples from Poland, providing insights into the creatures' rise, geographic spread, and the role of environmental changes in their evolution.
