A groundbreaking discovery has been made in Yangquan, North China's Shanxi Province, where the first fossil of a Diaphanopterodea insect from the Permian period, dating back about 300 million years, has been unearthed. This fossil represents the earliest and eastern-most record for the Parelmoidae family.
