Panthers' Rookie RB Jonathon Brooks Re-Tears ACL, Out for Season
Dec 9, 2024, 07:07 PM
Carolina Panthers rookie running back Jonathon Brooks has suffered a devastating setback, re-tearing the ACL in his right knee during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. This injury, which occurred just 13 months after his initial ACL tear while at the University of Texas, has ended his 2024 season prematurely. Coach Dave Canales confirmed the injury, expressing his heartbreak for the young player. Brooks, who was drafted in the second round, made his NFL debut on November 24 and had appeared in three games before this unfortunate non-contact injury. The re-injury not only terminates his current season but also casts doubt on his participation in the 2025 campaign. He is scheduled for surgery, marking the beginning of another long rehabilitation process.
