Colorado Funeral Home Owners Plead Guilty to Corpse Abuse, 190 Bodies Found

Jon and Carie Hallford, owners of the Return to Nature Funeral Home in Penrose, Colorado, have pleaded guilty to state charges of corpse abuse. The couple was accused of leaving 190 bodies to decay on their premises and providing grieving relatives with fake ashes. Their plea hearing took place in El Paso County court on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Earlier in October, the Hallfords had also pled guilty to federal charges including corpse abuse, theft, money laundering, and forgery.
